Programs

Individual Counseling Services:

All students are eligible to receive individual counseling services. Some referrals are initiated by staff, others by parents, but all students have the counselor available to them for any needs that arise.

Small Group Counseling

When several students would benefit from working together to learn a new skill, small group counseling could be offered.

Whole Group Guidance Lessons:

All students are reached through regular guidance lessons.  I see each classroom at least 2 times per 6 weeks and cover topics through our new Lions Quest curriculum including personal development, empathy, emotional regulation, and service learning.

Lion's Quest Guidance Curriculum-Skills for Growing (PreK-5)

"Lions Quest Skills for Growing (SFG) is an evidence-based PreK-5 program that integrates social and emotional learning, character development, drug and bullying prevention, and service-learning. Through a series of developmentally appropriate thematic units and lesson plans, the program helps create a school and classroom environment that promotes the positive student behaviors that lead to greater academic success." https://www.lions-quest.org/

Six Pillars of Character:

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week was started in California in honor of Enrique “Kiki” Camarena. He spent his adult life trying to stop drug dealers from harming children, and later lost his life while under cover in Mexico. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated nationwide and is a chance for us to remember Kiki Camarena and also pledge to stay alcohol, drug, and tobacco free. Red Ribbon Week for the 2020-21 school year is October 26-30 and we will have a several dress up days in celebration.
